The Lark & Laurel Bed and Breakfast
Welcome to the Lark and Laurel, Fort Benton's premier bed-and-breakfast experience! In 1877, a cabin of hand-hewn logs near the Fort was first owned by Patrick Whalen, a retired military man and Civil War veteran. In 1898-99, a Fort Benton physician built a Victorian home around the log cabin. Accurately restored in 2010, this historic home became the Lark and Laurel Bed and Breakfast. We invite you to visit the Lark & Laurel, where history's heritage meets modern comforts! Fly in to the Great Falls Airport, drive south from Havre, or enter town from the east, to find a place you won't want to leave, but will come back to, soon!!
Notre Maison est Votre Maison!!!
The Lark and Laurel features four delightful and accommodating bedrooms, all of which are found up the front staircase. On the main floor are the common rooms; Parlor, Cabin Room, and Dining Room. You may choose to sit by the fire, select a game to play at one of our game tables, help yourself to a cookie, watch a movie. The ambience throughout the house is influenced by a potpourri of nostalgic delights.
Yard and Garden
We offer a spacious yard and garden. Follow the curved brick walk, enter by the gate, and enjoy privacy, and a sense of retreat. A shady pergola and comfortable patio furniture invite guests to relax, have a refreshing cold drink, enjoy the fountain, savor the flowers, and bird-watch.
Home Away From Home
We aim to be your home away from home. You'll be welcomed into our home with an offer of refreshment, the shelves are full of good reads, and most anything you may need is yours for the asking. End the day with a stellar sleep and start it off with a memorable breakfast!
